About

Shannon Antinori

I’m a multimedia writer and editor with extensive experience as a journalist, a knack for community outreach and a passion for storytelling. I specialize in content strategy, SEO, audience development, public relations and social media.

My work has appeared in Angie's List magazine and AngiesList.com, as well as the Huffington Post and AOL.com.

I worked as a local editor for Patch.com, AOL’s network of hyperlocal news sites, launching Romeoville Patch in 2010. My roles included reporter, writer and editor, covering everything from local government to community news, crime and breaking news. I went on to manage 11 local news sites in the Chicago area, overseeing content and social media presence for each community.

During my years with Patch, I generated an audience of hundreds of thousands and a large social media following.

I developed my passion for community journalism at The Enterprise newspaper in Plainfield, where I covered crime, local business, government and education.

I’m a graduate of the University of St. Francis, graduating summa cum laude with a double major in Communications and English. While I was at USF, I worked as a reporter and editor for our award-winning student newspaper. I also spent a semester with the United Way of Will County, working to boost the profiles of member agencies by highlighting their success stories.

I was born and raised in Joliet. I have a passion for travel, books and Chicago sports, especially the Chicago Blackhawks, Cubs and Bulls. I currently live in Plainfield with my husband and our dog.
